Title:- Maintenance Workers Part Time

Location:- Brownsville, TX 78575

Rate:-$13.75 hr

Work Schedule:- Must be available M-F 8-5 will work 25 hours a week

JOB DESCRIPTION

This part-time role focuses on the well-being of impounded animals while ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the Animal Shelter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine care and sheltering of impounded animals, including feeding, watering.
• Maintain sanitation by cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, litter boxes, food bowls, bedding, and outdoor areas.
• Operate washer and dryer for kennel bedding maintenance.
• Ensure the general cleanliness of the shelter, including building and premises upkeep.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
• Perform additional assigned tasks related to shelter operations.

EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES AND EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED (no experience required), or basic literacy skills with two years of relevant experience.
• Effective communication
• Animal handling and restraint
• Time management
• Reliability and responsibility
• Primarily indoor and outdoor environments with occasional exposure to challenging conditions.

Physical Requirement:

• Moderate to heavy physical exertion, including standing, lifting, moving, pulling, and pushing.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, and lifting (20–50 lbs. regularly).
• Requires precision and dexterity in handling animals and equipment.
